Government expenditure impacts on financial development: Do population age structures moderations matter?

Purpose This study examined the roles of public spending and population moderating characteristic structure selected African economies on bank-based financial development through credit to private sector. Design/methodology/approach The sampled 37 for years 1991–2018, it applied a pooled mean group (PMG) estimator account short-run long-run causal effects, confirmed adjustments towards convergences between variables. Specific suitable tests were also applied. Findings Evidence confirms positive impacts both capital formation final consumption expenditures in short run long run. moderation structures expenditure help speed up convergences. Originality/value work attests its innovation by accounting separate effects types, young mature populations among Africa.
